Kathy and Robin decided to do an online gathering to go through one of Stonecroft’s newest resources, Ordinary People. Extraordinary Hope.TM They invited several women and had 8 total, including a young woman named Cierra.
They all really enjoyed their time together and wanted to do more. Kathy and Robin encouraged them to come together and pray about what might be next for them, when they might meet, who they wanted to reach and where. The younger women took their time, and Ronin and Kathy walked alongside them, giving advice and encouraging them.
Eventually they decided to start a new Stonecroft group that would meet in the evenings so they could reach their peers and women who were not able to meet during the day. They kicked off their first event with a fashion show and have been planning and creating events ever since.
Cierra has taken the lead as their new chair. “The many years of training through serving in Stonecroft is the reason I can be confident about starting a new group,” Robin said of mentoring this group of young women. “The essential of Stonecroft reaching lost, hurting women never changes, but just as important is building a community of women and letting them know they are valued and belong. We have so many resources in the ministry that will undoubtedly help women at whatever stage in their life.”
Robin and Kathy are not done helping this group of women grow and thrive as leaders who want to create safe places of caring and connection for women. Years of experience with Stonecroft has given them all the tools they need (and ongoing help!) to keep going.
