Lee Ann had just become a Speaker for Stonecroft when she was seated at a table with a woman who was deaf. Lee Ann knows American Sign Language (ASL), so she signed the entire meeting, plus her whole story, for the woman. Lee Ann had not practiced this and found it challenging but was so glad that she could serve in this way.
At the end of the meeting, another woman came up to her and said she had a deaf friend who she would like to bring to the meeting happening the next day and would Lee Ann be able to sign for her then, too. She could and the woman came and was able to enjoy the entire meeting and hear Lee Ann’s story of hope. The women were then able to connect the two dear women.
Lee Ann had no idea that her skills with ASL would even be needed as a Speaker, but she was ready and willing to be used by God in this special way to bring a message of God’s love to these women and also give them community and friendship.
“Being given the opportunity to use my sign skills, in addition to telling my story, is confirmation to me that I am in His will for my life for such a time as this,” Lee Ann said.
