Let Freedom Ring

Pause and Reflect: Reflect on a time when someone extended forgiveness to you? What kind of freedom did being forgiven by this person give to you? Think about a time you extended forgiveness to someone else? What type of freedom did you experience by extending forgiveness?

Scripture: “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” John 8:36 NLT

Scriptural Insights: Jesus Christ, our greatest freedom partner.

Isaiah 9:6 points to the way in which Christ came to give us freedom: “…And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” NLT

  • As our counselor, we are free to openly share our burdens and for him to lead us in freedom in our minds, emotions, and spiritual distresses.
  • As our Mighty God, we can offload our battles on to Him and he will fight our battles for us and give us rest.
  • As our Eternal Father, he frees us from the loneliness that we experience in life through loss, abandonment, betrayal, and other ways we can experience loneliness.
  • As our Prince of Peace, we are freed from our sins through him and able to abide in knowing we are forgiven and made whole, and have an eternal home through His shed blood on the cross.

Prayer Points

Pray for Stonecroft’s Military outreach, Beauties and Boots.

  • Pray for the national women leading Beauties and Boots.
  • Pray for opportunities on the military bases for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be shared.
  • Pray for our women serving in the military and the wives of those serving in our military branches.

Pray for our national, state, and regional leaders:

  • Pray for our leaders to have wisdom, discernment, compassion, as they lead our nation, our states, and our communities.
  • Pray for Christian leaders to have an impact on those they serve alongside and for opportunities for them to share who Jesus is and why they chose Jesus.
  • Pray for our citizens to look to Jesus as our ultimate leader and for revival to begin with Christian citizens first.

Pray for our outreach groups:

  • Pray for our national volunteers to be free from the shackles that burden-physical challenges, family challenges, emotional and mental challenges, and spiritual challenges.
  • Pray for opportunities to share the freedom found in Christ with their friends, family, neighbors, and community contacts.
  • Pray for areas of forgiveness that need to be both received and extended.

True freedom is found when a soul bows their heart and receives the forgiveness of sins that only Christ can offer. Let us share this freedom with all we have been given stewardship to lead.
